Check out Negativland at the Film Bar this Friday (May 6), as they reinvent live, their past and present favorites. They coined the phrase “culture jamming.” Their notoriety was raised when they were sued twice for copyright infringement. Using their homemade “Boopers”, they engineered their artistic expression (sound collage) incorporating appropriated material from the mass culture driven by corporate media, “stirred n’ mixed” with original media to redefine the mass message.
